In 2016, Alexander Downs purchased a domestic meat processing facility at Kurri Kurri. With this acquisition, Alexander Downs controls every detail from our paddocks in the Hunter Valley, to your customer’s plate. Our products can be tailored to suit your individual needs.

With our highly trained staff on the processing floor and boning room we are able to cater to all your meat specifications and deliver it to your butchery in our refrigerated fleet of trucks throughout the Hunter Valley and regions beyond.

Our meat processing facility welcomes service clientele for beef (dressing at no more than 280kg) and small stock. All livestock are processed following the Australian Standards for the Hygienic Production and Transportation of Meat and Meat Products for Human Consumption and Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines. Our skilled workforce ensures all carcases are processed to the highest standard in hygiene and dressing. Our refrigerated fleet of transport trucks and skilled team of drivers are able to deliver your meat carcass to your butcher shop of choice. To help us maintain these high standards all livestock must be booked prior to arrival.

Wholesale Meat
We raise our own Angus and Angus cross cattle at Alexander Downs.
They are fed on a nutritious diet and grown out in the rich clean pastures of the Upper Hunter Valley. Our cattle are always handled in a quiet, gentle manner in the yards and paddocks, through to processing, which ensures consistency for your customer and tender steaks on their plates.
Alexander Downs source only the best crossbred lambs from the Southern and Central regions of NSW. The pastures and fodder crops grown in these regions are considered ideal to produce a variety of exquisitely flavoured, moist and tender lamb cuts.
Our wholesale division at Kurri Kurri meets Food Industry Standards with an ‘A’ rating. Combined with our refrigerated fleet of transport trucks and a skilled team of drivers, we are able to provide all customers in the Hunter Valley and regions beyond with product known for its consistency and quality.
